IC updates!

Here we are! still in Turkey, enjoying and intensively learning from IC'07!

Day 1:

After 3 days of Pre-meetings with our respective growth networks, we had the opening day of IC wich quiet huge! the opening in the university lasts for 2 h 1/2 at least. Then, the 657 delegates moved to the european part for the Gobal village.
For those who attended the Global village held in Morocco in march for the MENA LDS, which was great ! and were amazed by the athmosphere, the different cultures... let me tell you that this one was AWSOME ! 100 countries, roll colls from all over the world, different clothes, food, languages, traditions... this is how we live diversity in AIESEC !
Right after the global village, we went to the Lutfi Kirdar International Center which is the equivalent for our "Palais des congrès" in Morocco. after many speaches of many personalities such as the Mayorof Istanbul, the Director of the national assembly, the Global HR manager of HP, our lovely PAI, Gabiza! and many others that made us so proud to be part of this organization.
of course! there are no official ceremonies without tradional shows. We had the opportunity to have an amazing show from a very known dance group called " Fire of Anatolia", and the very known Derviches. during the derviche show, we were asked to keep quiet and not to use camera flashes because at this moment, the derviches are spiritualy concentrated.
Check the AI dance from the opening:

Day 2:
We had our first sessions about what an achievement is, since the theme of this IC is "the path of achievers". Later, we had the chance to discover the new framework for AIESEC which is now called "The AIESEC way". In few words, the AIESEC way is the way we have to follow as AIESECers to achieve our goals.

Day 3:
This third day was full of emotions... Our previous PAI, Edyson Dos Santos, more known as Dey presented the AI 06-07 report. Then the AI 07-08 team presented their planning which has a special score! a 5th one, which is related to Alumni engagement!the best moment of the day is this memorable handover between Dey and Gabiza.

Day 4:
This day is called DLD or Developing Leaders Day. What makes this day special, even if each day in IC is unique, is the fact that ABN AMRO and Cadbury Schweepes bring their top managers from all over the world to deliver sessions about leadership to AIESEC members in IC. We even met a moroccan manager from Cadbury schweeps called Youssef Iraqi!

Day 5:
After a morning plenary that is taking place each morning where each country has to performe a small roll call, we were split into groups, by departments. This was the occasion to get to know people from all over the world that have the same position than ourselves, and thus, to share and learn.Later, we had to choose 3 workshops out of 20, more or less related to our field of work. Some new AIESEC concepts were introduced for the first time like the Brand XP and I'm an AIESECer Compaign that will take over " the It's Up to You" one.

Day 6:
AIESEC history! how does it feel like to hear an 1957 AIESECer talk about his AIESEC memories? how does it feel like to meet the founder of AIESEC in UK and Canada? during the whole day, we went through AIESEC history from 1948 until now, means 59 years of history, told by those who made it.

Day 7:
In AIESEC, we are very concerned by the world's issues. thus, the learning networks were created to give an opportunity to AIESEC members to discuss those issues. After many discussions, we had the Learning Networks ceremony. we were living a moment in the history of AIESEC at this moment.

Day 8:

This day began with the discussions between the GNs, to know more about the reality of each GN to make the interaction easier.

In the afternoon, we had the partners workshops and partners fair. the discussed topics were very intersting.

In the Evening, when all the delegates were enjoying the party, all the MCPs were having legislation. It lasts from 9pm until 7am the next morning !!

Day 9:

One day before the end of the conference... so sad ! the main point of this day was to give the opportunity to countries to have meetings in a formal way instead of booking all the lunches and diners!

For what happened this evening, I'll write it later... Be patient!

PS: Picture will be published in the following post!
